Sandi, again...

We have a new gift-a rug / wall hanging. Sandi found it last night and took to it immediately! 

The blessing of the happy cat

I am one of those people who is interested in happiness. I have not always been "happy" & it is a state of being that  I really have come to value as I have gotten older. I especially like the idea that "things" do not make you happy. That leaves me asking : what does make one happy? I do believe some are lucky enough to be born happy. Others have to search & learn. I am not a researcher but I do observe & watch & that leads me to this nature / nurture  belief. Sandi is born happy. She is delighted-all of the time. Today she found this small patch of sunshine and basked in it. And the look on her face, her body language -all said-I am happy, happy, happy. I watch her as the years pass & wish I could be as happy as she is. 

Lost pet

On my walk several days ago I spotted this. Passing the poor guys photo again today I stopped  & snapped it thinking I'd post it in hopes of helping out. If you live in Queens, N.Y. and you've seen this guy, have him phone home. I guess these kinds of "LOST" signs strike a cord. If my guys went missing-in winter-I know I'd be broken hearted. 

Sandi & her "bouncie ball"

Each cat has it's own favorite toy. For Sandi, it is her "bouncie ball" -it came with her cat bed . She plays fetch with it ,picking it up by the tinsel like strands and carrying the ball back to us to throw again & again. 

Nicki snoozes

We had more snow today so we all stayed in. Ely slept, I did paper work & Nicki & Sandi lounged around. I love this photo because of all the surrounding COLOR! The yellow and orange flannel blanket came from my Grandma Claire's house.It's very toasty which is probably why Nicki likes it so much!

We got snow today & I think it made Sandi uncomfortable...taking out the tripod & camera to photograph her probably did not help matters! 

TLC

Nicki told Ely today : "My sister and I have not been getting along and so I need some tlc. You do not seem to understand-she is very rough with me..." : translation: "meow"

Christmas 2008

One of our owners thinks it is both cute & fun (not to mention fulfilling for us...) to dress up & he is forever buying us awful things to wear. As you can tell from these photos, we HATE to be dressed up. If it were not for the understanding & love we get from our other owner we would have plotted his end a long time ago.

we still like to hang out together but we've grown more possessive and territorial as we've gotten older.

This is the story of Nicki & Sandi. We are sisters even if we do not look like it! We used to be VERY small. We are not so small any more. Especially Sandi who loves to eat almost as much as she loves attention.
